I reckon that what Trigirl said about
losing subcutaneous fat is right enough, I lost mine two three years back and never have regained it, can't even sit in a draft without shivering now, like a pensioner. But even before that it was noticeable that my homeostasis (balance) mechanism for vasodilation and vasoconstriction (blood flow to capillaries) was totally shot whenever I was ill. That causes chills and sweats just as if fever or hypothermia would, and it certainly ties in with Crohn's being a vascular disease as some GIs have been known to describe it.
Oh I wish I had a clothes dryer !!
(Still, knowing the carbon footprint of those devices should warm me up - I'm blushing at what my green friends would say !
)
