Dr. Shah is very good, I actually see another GI in his practice Dr. David Schreiber.  I have heard many good things about Dr. Shah.  Good luck!!

I actually used to go to that group in the early 90's and saw dr. torgan but he retired long ago...I love my current GI but I just want a second opinion as I've become more complicated....having a jpouch and now crohn's is difficult...

I use to see a GI in bayside down near RI hospital but when I was having a flare he didnt believe me even when tests proved it.  I saw this when I asked that a copy of my TB test be faxed to me since my job at the time required 2 neg tests within a year and it said patients "claims" to be flaring.  Needless to say after that note in my chart 1 month later I had emergency surgery and went to a hospital my old GI did not go to and started with shah he has been wonderful.  Hope you get some good help from him I know I have

Hey Dragon, I wouldn't take offense to the word "claims" actually. It is fairly standard. It is something that hasn't been substantiated yet by a test. I actually have a law enforcement background and we were always taught to say "claims" until it is proven. It wasn't until law school that I was retrained to write "states." I agree that it SUCKS to be doubted but I just wanted you to know that might not have been his intent in writing it.

Yes true but I had a medical test prove I was in fact flaring and this portion of my chart was written after there was positive proof of a flare. Thats what gets me

How did everybody get an appointment with Dr Shah? I have been going to that office now for three years under Dr Spector. When I initially called they told me that Dr Shah doesn't accept new patients and could see a doctor under him. I'm not too crazy about Spector, feel like he may be a little inexperienced. I'm going to Boston in a couple of weeks for a second opinion. Boston Medical Center.

I might have to try to switch to Dr Shah too now that everybody else is getting appointments.

I ended up with him since i went to miriam hospital via ambulance when the walk in felt i needed to go to a hospital. at 1st they told my my dr who works over by RI hospital also sees patients there only to find he didnt. From that point on I switched to him. I dont know if the complexity of my case helped but at first I saw a diff doctor from the office in the ER that evening I was admitted but Shah was on call too. He was the 1 who said I needed Surgery where the other Dr who was there wanted to try Abs for my perforation...my primary gave holy hell till I was scheduled for surgery which Shah agreed was the best as well. Which reminds me I need to call the office and make an appt with him.

Jasper...I called over to that office and asked if he was taking new patients and they said he was...I'm not actually switching, just want a second opinion...he is currently away for the next week, so I'm still waiting for an appt. to be set up...apparently they will not set it up without his approval...
