I have noticed for a few weeks now that my poops have become REALLY stinky. The only time they have ever been super stinky was when I was flaring. Not feeling bad really, but was wondering, do you think that the stinkyness is the sign of anything? i.e. An impending flare???? Not eating anything different, so I don't think its from food. Thanks for your thoughts!!

Have you been tested for C. difficile? It's really awful smelling. :(
This is the technical definition: "Clostridium difficile, often called C. difficile or "C. diff," is a bacterium that can cause symptoms ranging from diarrhea to life-threatening inflammation of the colon. Illness from C. difficile most commonly affects older adults in hospitals or in long term care facilities and typically occurs after use of antibiotic medications. "

I am going through the same thing following use of antibiotics...they smell worse and, after what I think was at least a week of remission, have made the cramps and D return.
I have no idea what causes this though. I wondered if it had anything to do with what you eat, but it doesn't seem to matter what I eat..
Maybe it IS a c diff infection. God knows that's the last thing any of us need.

No diarrhea at all. Just the foul smell. I guess it could be food related. I am pretty confident that I don't have C-Diff.
Thx

Foul smell is a sign of a flare for me. First it's the smell, then usually the color changes. I hope it's just food and not a flare!

The "stinkies" always show up in a flare for me as well. But also whenever I take antibiotics or have a colonoscopy. Has your diet changed?

Foul odor, along with greasy/oily poops that float and may be of lighter than usual color can be a sign of fat malabsorption, which in turn can be a sign of inflammation in the terminal ileum.

No greasy/oilies either and no change of color. And I don't have a TI anymore, surgically removed.
