remicade fistulas/abcesses

Remicade cleared mine up pretty quick, but I had setons/drains in them forever, so that might be part of it...? I was also given Remicade every 4 weeks for the first 3 months or so, so the fistulas didn't stand much of a chance.

How far apart are your infusions? If you're doing it every 8 weeks, maybe you could talk with your doc about getting juiced every 6 or 7 weeks for a few doses to see if you can nix the fistulas for good...? Just a thought.

I have nothing but problems with a fistula. My doctor doesn't seem to think that it matters. Grrr

My daughter has a fistula below her belly button and her doctor wants to treat her for it with either Remicade or some other long-term medicine. Our daughter and also we do not feel good about these treatments because of all we have read about the long-term affects of them. She is going to go on Flagyl and an antibiotic and we'll see how that goes.

Wow, thanks....that's the best news I've heard in a long time. Has anyone heard of using Wild Oregano oil to heal fistulas? A gal at a health store told me that it is considered a natural antibiotic. Obviously, we would rather use something natural rather than medicine so we're interested... Also, if we do go with the flagyl, do you use probiotics during the time you're taking the antibiotics or after? Thanks....
