I was wondering if this pain i am in, is because of my crohns.I was on a very low dose of 2Mg of prednisone for almost a year because nothing else would work.Right now i have been off prednisone for about 6 months.My problem is the body ache i have. I stand and walk all day long and if i have to bend or kneel down you swear i was 90 years hold because it hurts bad like my musles are stretching.
If i sit down for a dew minutes and get up, then i start walking like Im 90. Once i get moving it seems to be fine. Does anyone else feel like this?

idea Crohn's Arthritis ? confused I know I get days when I am flaring that I get the beaten-up feeling, and it goes away when the rest does.

Sounds to me like you are experiencing spondyloarthropathy [SpA] that is associated with Crohn's. The symptoms of stiffness occuring after inactivity and easing when you move is exactly what happens to me and I was initially diagnosed with SpA. If you are experiencing pain in the very lower back, about where the dimples are above the buttocks, it is likely your SI joints are the source of the problem. A rheumatologist can be very helpful at evaluating and treating this type of problem.

The pain is in my lower back as i stand up, until i walk a bit. I think i will make an appt.

It could be damage from being on the pred long term as well.

Very interesting Ides, what you describe fits me to a T. But as here in the UK we don't do rheumatology for Crohn's patients mad because rheumatology is not used in coming to a diagnosis, then there is little point in me even asking, I've been fobbed off before. I was wondering why my back should be so sore suddenly when I know that I am doing safe manual handling - I teach the procedures, after all. Certainly not pred in my case, haven't been on it in years, and I do lots of heavy lifting.

snoshare - SI joint inflammation can usually only be seen on MRI until there has been a problem ongoing for quite a number of years. Xrays usually don't pick up the damage until about the 10 year mark according to research studies. I am fortunate to have had a wonderful rheumy that wanted to get to the bottom of my arthritic problems. My SpA is a far larger issue than my CD at this point.
