Hi purplechevy!! First off I was wondering if you had open surgery or was it done via laproscope? That one fact makes a lot of difference. I had 2 open resections and like you I was not comfortable wearing anything too tight. It takes a good six weeks for the open incision to heal and doctors say that it takes about a year to fully recover from the surgical changes. When you have it done via laprascope you may heal faster much like Wolfie did, but with open its a little longer to recover.
You need to remember that they have gone in and manipulated your intestines, taken them out, checked them all over, removed the bad areas, then put them back into your body. So it does take a fair amount of time to get back to our "new" normal. I wouldn't go too crazy with your diet at this point. Keep it easy to chew, easy to digest. I personally have stayed on a low residue diet since my surgeries. I eat alot of fish, chicken and turkey. If I eat veggies they are usually cooked to mush, and eat no peels/skins or seeds. As you heal you can slowly start adding things back into your diet. I would try adding one new thing at a time so you can see which foods agree and which don't.
You may have D for a while until your body adjusts to the changes. Things most often get better stool wise, but its not uncommon for some to continue to have D, but you may not have that if you didnt have your TI removed. If it was removed be sure to ask your doc about B12 shots, because you will need them from now on if the terminal ileum was removed as we no longer absorb it.
Make sure to rest as needed and not overdo too soon. I hope your surgery brings you to a long long remission.
Hugs,
