 We are having an unusually cool spring here in south La. .The humming birds are just arriving from South America and they are feeding on all the plants my wife has planted for them. Especially the firecracker plant she kept blooming all fall by not cutting it back. Purple Martin songs fill the morning air and a Cardinal has nested in the sweet olive next to our house and a House Wren is in a small bucket on the patio. Doves have nested in my grape vines and the trellis near by. The fish are feeding on the new crop of shad in the bayou and last night I surprised an otter that came to sit on our pier, not knowing I was there enjoying the nights cool breeze. Though my gut is playing havoc I can still make short rides on my scooter and have been using it exclusive to go to work a few miles away. When I arrive home I can sit on the patio have a cool glass of water and watch and listen to nature all around me. That takes the edge off the pain and discomfort and the troubles that worry my mind as well as my body. If the cool weather holds the hurricane season will be less of a threat also and that is a big worry I struggle with each year. All in all its wonderful to be able to enjoy so much even if it is short lived. We only have the moment after all and I try to enjoy all that I am able . Hope you too have something to help with the almost constant troubles of crohns. Take a moment and look around, maybe you are missing some great experience because it is very small and easy to overlook.

That sounds so awesome and RELAXING.......I am jealous:) The best thing to help me take my mind off my CD is definetly my husband. He is the best, massages my back to help me relax. Thanks for sharing Sniper!

I could picture it all!!!  i focus on the flowers more than the birds once we get our first robin and the doves "enjoying" each other outside my window show up at the beginning of spring.  I can hear you sigh....that's what I do when i look at my garden and see the gentle shapes of the blooms and the colors intertwined

Hi Sounds like things are getting lively down there and what a beautiful pic to envision... Nothing more peaceful then nature and I am glad the cool air is helping we are in for a warm week end,so looking froward to getting out..I too have the birds near and must get started at some flower seeds perhaps after getting inspired I will start tonight thanks for the motivation it is always welcomed... lol gail

I know what you mean Sniper, I find it very theraputic to just stop and take in what is around me. Send those hummingbirds north soon, I'll be filling the feeder on the front porch. They seem to remember it and an early migrater usually reminds me that it's time to fill it.

Wow, that was wonderful! As it is still cold up here, I haven't been able to have much sitting outside and enjoying the world time.. but I did see a beautiful red cardinal zip by in front of my car while driving yesterday.. that was pretty nice :)

Guess what I mean is we sometimes get so overwhelmed by all the bad things that we step all over the good things as though they were not there. Life is short no matter how well or ill we are and all that makes it good is there even if we dont take the time to see them. We should stop a while and clear our minds. Healthy people are killed in car accidents every day. We do not know if what we suffer will cut our lives shorter, we only have today. So make the best of it. Life in every breath. Hug your kids, watch them at play, enjoy their laughter, call a friend and say hello, watch the sun rise and admire a sun set, listen to the birds sing, listen to snow flakes fall, taste some chocolate, smell the roses, enjoy the sound of rain. I could go on and on but you have to find joy for yourself. But first, you have to take the time to look. Dont let the tears of illness blur your eyes.
