Hi all! I just wanted to share, update...
Here's the condensed version: I had a horrible flare back in January which caused me to land in the hospital for a bit. I ended up on a course of Prednisone that I couldn't get off of, along with new pain meds to go along with all of my other meds. And also to go out of work on disability. I have been taking 6MP for 14 or so years, up to 100mg for most of it, but it has since decided to stop working for me; I've also had 1 resection. My doctor and I decided Remicade would be the next best step; although I was thoroughly terrified of going that route, I knew I couldn't live the way I was.
So I started the Remicade last month. I just received my second infusion 2 days ago (I had to do it later than I should have because I caught a cold:(). I actually noticed a difference not too long after my first infusion. I decided to try to start tapering the Pred since I was feeling better, and I'm actually down to 5mg a day from 40mg! Don't get me wrong, I'm not miraculously healed or anything; I'm still having problems, but just getting to the point that I'm at right now is so encouraging!
Basically I'm sharing my story because I was at the point where I didn't think I'd ever feel better. And I'm so happy that I found something that works, that enabled me to (almost) get off of the Prednisone, and start to be able to DO THINGS!!! And I'm also sharing this to give hope to those of you who are in the same position that I was just a month ago.
Thanks for listening
