If one of your physicians diagnosed you with Crohn's based on biopsies, why did you leave him/her? Did that doctor begin treating you for Crohn's?
It took over 25 years to get a diagnosis. In the beginning I was told I had spastic colon, nervous bowels, or that I was just stressed. I was in a medical care system where I never saw the same doctor which added to the lack of continuity. Others here have also struggled getting a diagnosis.
Have you tried locating a gastroenterologist in your community that specializes in inflammatory bowel diseases [IBD]? If you are in the US, the CCFA has a
physician member directory. These members are mostly specialists in IBD. Their inclusion in the directory does not warrant that they will have great bedside manners or anything, but it is a place to start.
