Hi I soaked two or three times a day and it started to feel better in a day ot two and what you have sounds likw what I had .I got it checked and it went away in a about a week .Don't try messing with it the warm water shoud drain it with the salt slowly without opening up a big wound that might get infected. Let us know how it goes.lol gail

When I had a problem on my backside that I wanted to be able to see, I had my husband use the digital camera and take a picture. Just make sure you delete it so you don't accidently upload it to you computer. My daughter had a cyst on the back of her ear that she wanted to be able to see so I took a digital photo for her.

Also, I have used my digital camera to photograph my wierd rash that only occurs after I shower. I printed out the photos and took them to my doctor.

Hi,

Don't leave it...go to your doc.  When my first fistula formed, it felt like I a baseball bat up my butt...........it was so sore.  I left it (denial) alone and it just got bigger and bigger and then my doc drained it in his office - ta da!!!!  fistula #1. 

Hope it's just a pimple...but get it looked at.

When I got my fistula..It felt like I had a bowling ball between my butt cheeks? It was about one inch away from my "u know what" so It wasnt hemmies. It was soo painful? It got to be the size of a small marble so I went to the hospital where they told me It was a fistula that was ready to break open. It wasnt red or irritated like the boils? It made it hard for me to walk. The doctor said it had to drain..so he popped it. It felt sooo much better after that besides all the puss that came out. He left a tiny sliver of medical cloth so it would stay open and keep draining. It stayed for months until I started imuran and then..gone.

Well... the size has reduced a bit.... It's more like a BB now. It still hurts, but only when touched or when I have a BM. I am thinking since it's getting smaller, there is nothing to worry about. I think I am just going to ignore it. I am going to have my hubby look at it one more time. I can't tell if there's still a little white head on it or not. I really am a bit too embarrassed to discuss it with my doc. Maybe it's just skin & no worries... I mean, they still aren't sure if I have CD yet, so maybe I am just overreacting.

Hi..................don't be embarrassed to talk to your doctor about it...............my CD was diagnosed BECAUSE of the fistula. It was the one thing that conivnced them it was CD and not some other kind of large bowel inflammation.

Well... BB thing is still there. I checked it while squatting over a mirror the other day (oh, my, there's a reason we can't see our bum, lol)... It still looks like a small head, but I can't really tell. I haven't bugged my husband to look at it lately. I do NOT think it has grown at all.

I did call my doctor, but never heard back. They must be busy or something.

Thing is, I am being seen at a teaching hospital by a very highly recommended Dr. in IBD. I wonder if I should call her about this or just wait until I see her in 3 weeks.

For anyone who may have been following my situation, they are trying to figure out if CD is my problem or not. I did request some of my medical records to see (they are double checking the pathology of the slides from my scopes) what was there so far & it looks like microscopic colitis. So maybe it's not crohn's at all. The surgeon who did my first scope said it looked like lymphocytic colitis. Small bowel follow through showed inflammation, they thought probably from IBD. Everything else is pretty normal, I suppose.

So I guess that's good news. I just wonder when my life will get back to normal.

Well.... I finally had this thing looked at. In fact, it got so much smaller & wasn't much of a bother after a month or so. But then last week it came back & is sore. I had my appt. with the IBD specialist at the university hospital so I figured the timing was good.

The appt. was to see if I had crohn's or not. My GI & docs keep going back & forth... I kinda feel like I am finally getting answers... even though nothing definitive yet. She said the slides show microscopic colitis, so currently she doesn't think it's crohn's. Then she looked at my "bump" & said that it's something that people with crohn's get. It's small but she said we needed to put me on Flagyl to try to get rid of it. She said if it drains then I need to call her right away. I assume it's an abscess. She seemed to change her tune a little after seeing the bump & I got the feeling she was curious about my case. She did say that at certain points, the beginning of crohn's disease cycle, it can look like microscopic colitis & be mistakenly diagnosed as such. Therefore she wants me to report any weight loss or drainage from the bump or if I have more BMs than the 6ish I have per day. She said ANOTHER set of scopes would be in order. (don't want to do that again, I have already had 2 of each).

So I thought I would update for you all. Currently the dx is microscopic colitis, but she said it is possible still that it is crohn's. I guess we are on wait & see mode. She also put me on Asacol as well for the colitis. I am hoping I can afford that, she said it's expensive. But at least I know my "bump" is more than a bump!

hukleberrie please be careful with this bump. I had a bump on my nose that I thought was a pimple and it was mrsa staph. I know noses and hiney's are two different things but you never know what those little bumps may be. I always read the crohn's forum my hubby had crohn's. Take care and hope you get better soon.
