Paul, what chinese drugs are you taking? If you don't mind me asking. Also -- topical application should be trouble free for your gut -- Never hits the intestines.
I
was reading, from some web sources, that about 5-10% of the topical Ibuprofen cream could be absorbed into the blood stream. So I hope it would be OK for me to use it.
What Chinese herbs am I taking? Long story short: I go to China twice a year and I would see this old Chinese herbal doctor in Beijing. This doctor is very experienced and it is very difficult to book an appointment with him. Anyway, he would write an herbal prescription for me, which is made up of some 16 different herbs. Those herbs work together to help me control my disease. I boil those herbs and then drink the liquid almost daily (he told me: take medicines for 3 days and no medicine for 1 day). I have noticed remarkable improvement in my disease, but haven't noticed any side effects.
I know this may not be practical for everyone. First, I am bilingual and understand both Eng/Chn. Second, my insurance does not cover my trip expenses as well as the herbs, though I save them lots of money on prescriptions. Third, the herbal drink can taste bitter at first, so someone may not like it. But I am used to it. I know we all people face tough choices in our lives: healthcare, jobs, money, where you live, etc. But I have made the tough choice that health always comes first. Without health, you can hardly have anything else.
