If you haven't already done it, flutterbies, I recommend you start looking at different types of probiotics. A lot of people here on this forum find them a great help, though not a cure of course. The right one is likely to help damp down inflammation, which cannot be bad. The bad news of course is that it is trial and error to find out which is the right one for you personally. Try using the search button (I believe we may have one that doesn't work, but we have more than one) to find other threads on the site.
Dietarily you will find CD comes in different "flavours". Some folk can't eat red meat, others have no problem with it. Some cannot have high fibre foods, some can. Some cannot drink coffee or spirits, others have no problem. The same goes for food intolerances - eg gluten and dairy.
You're gonna hate me for saying this, because the idea is so repellant to any normal person, but it is worth going on an exclusion diet to see what foods act as a trigger for symptoms or make you worse. Myself, I find there are three categories: foods that are always safe, foods that are never safe, and foods that I can have a bit of but only if I'm doing really well. You may find some foods will take a couple of days to have ill effects, others it is pretty near instantaneous.
It's standard to be depressed and having mood swings in your shoes. Grown men go through the exact same process as you are doing just now, we see it here often. That's half the reason we need to be here !
Just don't forget flutterbies, you will
not always be this ill, and as you find out more about
how your particular symptoms tend to behave, your stress levels will drop quite a bit. It is not knowing what is coming next that really gets to folks, it gives free rein to their fears. Get a handle on what to expect and how to handle it, you will find it easier to accept.
Oh, and if the docs aren't taking you seriously (did I mention doctors do that ?
) try keeping a log of all your symptoms, scoring the pain on a scale of 1 to 5, keeping a record of how symptoms are affecting your daily life. It is important not to lose sight of the good your life still has in it - go out of your way to do one fun thing each day - but a record of what is happening is a lot more meaningful to a doctor than you just complaining about
it. Sad but true.
