Hi guys, I was just wondering if any of you who have been on Entocort have ever had an episode where you've had tightness in your chest? Last night when I was trying to sleep, I suddenly got this really bad tightness in the upper middle part of my chest and it hurt really badly for me to breathe, and my left arm also got really weak. I finally fell asleep about
3-4 hours later and when I woke up the pain was gone. I'm a bit concerned about
this because I wasn't sure if I was having a heart attack or something weird was happening to me, but I was kind of far from home and I didn't have a way to get to the hospital. I'm going to most likely call either my family doctor or my GI tomorrow, but it was pretty scary. I'm hoping that this wasn't related to the Entocort because I've already had a bad reaction to Pentasa and I don't want to keep having bad reactions to every drug they give me lol. Do any of you have any idea what might've caused this? I was also sick with the flu for the last week, but got over it a couple of days ago. Thanks guys!

Guess no one knows! lol I called my GI this morning and said I think I might've had a bad reaction to Entocort. The secretary didn't ask what happened to me but she got me an appointment at the hospital for 3 hours from now, so I'm quite impressed. Hopefully it is medication related, because if it isn't, I guess I have much bigger problems on my hands... I'll let you guys know what happened when I get back home.

I had chest tightness when I was on Entocort. The GI (who is no longer my GI) told me there was no way the entocort caused it. But everytime I would take all 3 pills at the same time, I would have the same reaction. So then I took it upon myself and separated them, taking one in the morning, one at lunch and one at night. And the discomfort stopped. I told him what I did, and he said that if it worked that was fine. (now this is coming from a Dr. that treats his pts like monkeys and has no people skills) lol, sad, but very true!! But its good that you are going to get checked out, b/c you just never know!! good luck!

When would you get the tightness? I take my pills in the morning and I got the pain at night. I went to see my GI today and she doesn't think it was the Entocort, either, but I have an appt. with my family doctor to schedule some chest x-rays and stuff like that to make sure I didn't have a heart attack. I will try separating the pills like you did, thanks for the suggestion!

I would get the tightness in the late afternoon, and i took the entocort when I woke up. But it didn't occur again when I started separating them. Your welcome. Maybe that will help, if it is the medicine. Let me know how things go.

I saw my family doctor today, she checked me out and thinks that I either have pneumonia or had a minor heart attack! lol I'm on antibotics for pneumonia now, and I have a chest xray and EKG scheduled for tomorrow to figure out what the problem is. Scary though, a heart attack at 20. :(

I hope they figure out what it is. I had costochondritis while on Entocort at least once. They made me go to the ER because I guess some of the symptoms mimic a heart attack. So hopefully that's all it is. But it is definitely a good idea to get it checked out to make sure. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks everyone! I had my chest x-ray and EKG this morning, no idea how long it'll take to get the results back, but I'm hoping for this afternoon... My doctor doesn't work Fridays so I won't know until Monday otherwise.
