Remicade: when does it start to work?

I just had my second infusion of remicade 2 days ago and I have felt some relief from the pain in my abdomen, but I'm still feeling bloated and having trouble passing gas, and I have bloody liquid stools a few times a day. Does it just take longer for some people to benefit from this drug? Many of the success stories I've read tell of instant relief, and I'm definitely not feeling that. Anyone else have experiences like this? Am I being impatient?

For me, back when Remicade put me into remission, I noticed effects after the second infusion. Real differences after the third. Remember that even if the meds help, it takes time to heal up the damage and feel better.

Also, each TNF that's helped me, I didn't notice a thing until the 4th day after. Then I could start to feel it kick in. That's after it had built up.

In the past I had immediate relief pretty much, but last time I was ill and had to have it one dose got me feeling a LOT better but it took a second dose to really feel 'normal' again. But last time I was severely ill and in a really bad way, probably the illest I've been with my Crohn's since using remicade so think that maybe because of how bad it was I needed more than usual to get it to work.

I've just started Remicade too - I'm having my second infusion tomorrow. Still waiting to notice any difference, hope it works for me!

It took a few weeks for me, too. Please do be patient. I'm pretty sure you'll know if / when it is working.

I have had 2 infusions so far... after the first one I noticed a difference, after the second one not so much, but I'm hoping the third will be my charm! After each infusion I feel bloated and gassy for a couple of days, and somewhat sick to my stomach, but it passes.

Good to hear from all of you, thanks. I feel a lot more confident about that 3rd infusion now :)
