Surgical tape...

Does the tape over your incisions really fall off by themselves or do you have to help them along? Belly button one is starting to loosen but all others are pretty well stuck. The two small incisions look like they have scabs under them, one had bled a little bit in hospital. I don't think I was "all there" when surgeon was explaining this to me when being released and my husband showed up 5 minutes later.

Good heavens, the surgical tape I have experience with wouldn't "fall off" under the loosest definitions of the word - I usually have to help it along.

I don't know what your doctor told you specifically, so you might want to give him a ring. Mine always told me to soak them off in the tub so as not to damage the surgery site or surrounding tissue by yanking at it.

i like to trim the edges as they curl up and loosen.. but leave the main part alone... eventually i cannot stand it anymore and slowly pull them off. you may loose one a day after a week or so at home and showering etc..

BTW i love the smell of the glue that is sprayed on for the steristrips. anyone else have this ?

I had to pull mine off 3 weeks after surgery, darn things just wouldn't fall off.
I know what your thinking Bammer. You want to see your incisions to see what they look like and how big they are.
