Just wanted to let you all know that the "new" copay program initiated by Abbott Laboratories is not all it's cracked up to be.  I was excited about getting my Humira Rx last month for only $5- exactly what the literature had stated and advertised.  Well, this month I found out when I picked it up, that I'm still paying the old cost of about $48.  I even waited a day to contact the company and verify this was correct, and sure enough, the $5 copay was too good to be true.  This program is basically exactly the same as the last one, the only difference is that the last time I started the Humira I purchased the starter pack of 6 pens, and now I'm only on the maintainence dose of 2 pens a month.  So since they cover up to $1000 for the first month, I only paid $5.  Grrrrr!!! They were so misleading! Pisses me off. mad

Thanks, Britt. I'm sorry to hear that, as I thought someone else on here said it really was on $5 for them.  I still haven't refilled mine since getting the new card.  I'll let you know what my cost is, once I do.

I've filled my Humira prescription twice now since having that card and each co-pay has been exactly $5.00 for me. Are you sure the pharmacy is billing the right card? Sometimes they just see a co-pay card in the file and assume its the same as the new card you gave to them. My pharmacy initially did this for me, just ask them to verify. It should be $5.00.

I have no idea what insurance you guys are using or how your getting it cheap already, but i wouldnt be complaing about 48 dollars on a medication that costs thousands of dollars.

I have medicare and medicaid as my insurance and for some reason they wouldnt pay for my scripts. My GI found a pharmacy in West Virginia, I'm in Virginia, that paid and still pays for every script i've got for the past two years except 3 dollars and ten cents. When i forget to send the new script, they even call ME. When I find the name of the pharmacy, I will post it, I think its a good idea to get help, but I dont think we should take these things for granted whatsoever!

I pay $80 for 3 months. I was not sure how the new program worked either. I will have too look into this. karen

Hello everyone, and or anyone. This is all new to me. I have

had multiple sx's, colostomy and reversal. Skin tags, partial colon removed and repaired. Finially gave in and got myself to the chief of gastro, at Duke Hospital. dx chron's disease. he suggested humira. I am lost out here!! other than that I am great!!

holy cow rovin! I wouldnt have let them operate on me period without a diagnoses, especially taking part of your colon and going to he extreme of a ostomy. I have an ostomy, but it was not avoidable. Thats just not right. Your drs werent doing all they could or something, if it took a chief to find it then it was probably obvious, because he wouldnt have people not knowing a MAJOR GI illness working in the GI specialty.

Mine said something like I pay $50 after six months, but I don't know if this is a one time fee or not...I haven't been paying anything for my humira so far, but I don't have my insurance for much longer anyway so I'm not sure what's going to happen. It was nice while it lasted.

LMills, that sounds like the old co-pay plus program...they have a new one where you are only supposed to pay $5 instead of the $50 or $100.  You have to ask them to send you a new card for this program.

I'm on Medicare. I just started Humira 6 weeks ago. I had to pay $4,300 which would take me into and out of the donut hole. Hereafter, I pay $75 per month until next year when I start all over again. I don't qualify for any other discounts as they are income based and I must make too much. I'm happy for the income but not happy with what the Humira costs, especially when I have yet to see any positive results.

eyes  So glad I got back on the site.  I am going to most likely start Humira in about a week.  The office called and were excited to tell me about this card deal.  I hope it works.  I will be the first patient on this medication from my GI office.  I am sending a list of questions with my doctor when he goes to a GI conference next week.  I need a little more insurance before I start this program.  I am on today to see what people on our site are saying about their expierence with Humira.

Completely understandable, but the thing is this:  I am 24 years old with a husband and a 2 year old. I know longer have a job since I had to quit a few months ago due to a flare.  We pay almost $540 a month for health insurance, not to mention copays and our deductible.  Yes, I am glad this program exists, but was I disappointed when I thought I could save over $40 a month?  Absolutely.

Holy cow is right crohn's patient!!!! I have worked in the medical field all my life. my daddy was a doc. This has been a complete nightmare. Right now, i have a tuneling perianal abcess, fever,fatigue, etc. I am about to give in and go to a local med center/rent a doc for some pain pills. This is not the answer, yet no one is really listening to me. I feel like something is eating my colon as I type. Other than that, it is a beautiful day!
