I have tried severl times to get some personal info from you "folks" about humira. Going to the doc on Friday and want to be well informed before I begin injections. Soooooooo tired of this messy mess. Thank you!

It's worked quite well for me. I have side effects occasionally like head aches and fatigue, but nothing too serious. Just make sure you get blood tests done every few months and keep a close eye out on how you are feeling.

As for how long that works, it really depends on the person. It took 4-6 months to see any real results in me, but it has made a huge difference.

It does hurt quite a bit at first, but you get used to it eventually so it should be fine. I have the pen. Some people prefer more control with the syringe injections, but I am happy with what I have.

Paying for it might be a bit of an ordeal. I had good insurance up until today in addition to Myhumira copay assistance program so I was paying $35 copay first and the nothing after receiving the copay assistance card. I am not so sure now. I have a month's worth of humira left and then we will see.

Seems to be doing alright for me so far. Not many side effects, not yet anyway. Took about 2/3 months to kick in, hopefully it contunues to kick in further. Maybe some fatigue for a few days.

Hello,it did take my inflammation away,but I had to go off of it about 10 mths into it,I had headaches,gained ALOT of weight,felt hot all the time,and ended up with drug induced lupus,so I personally was very happy to go off of it,BUT for me,it was okay,because I felt good before going on it,my scope just showed inflammation,but it's differant for everybody,might work great for you.

Thanks for all the posts. I really can't take something that will cause anymore fatigue.humira is the drug that Christopher mantyh, chief of colon rectal recomended. I really feel that even though he is a surgeon, he was concerned. I really do not want to return to the bag. Just feel a little lost @ the moment. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the response. I am sick of wearing sunglasses to hide the dark circles. Fatigue is the worst part. I used to run 5 miles a day, now it is a job to just walk to the bill boX!!! My God has a plan, I just don't see it today.

I actually haven't been on this site in months because I've felt fantastic, all because of humira which I started last July. It took THREE days for me to feel the effects and that's saying something - everything hurt me except for yogourt, bread and water. Now I can eat everything under the sun (although I still get bloated but no pain), energy is still a bit low but definitely better than when my symptoms were active. I did put on about 8 lbs when I first started it but the Dr. told me that was my body and metabolism adjusting to being able to eat normally and absorb nutrients. I love this stuff, and yes, it's costly but it's been my personal lifesaver.
The only other problem is that I get a cold every month or two whereas before I'd get that once a year, but in the bigger scheme of things, it's a small sacrifice.

Hopefully you'll feel have the same results!

Unfortunately, I don't think we all hear the positive things on this site because once things are going really well for people they're less inclined to come here. I know I am...

Thanks for the replies, I too may be going on Humira. I have a cT scan coming up and if the disease is back Humira is my next step.

I know I say one of my side effects is fatigue, but not everyone gets that. It may be that you try it and it you don't feel worse at all. It's just an individual thing...and you'll never know if you don't try..

thanks for the reply. humira faxed to pharm. today. GI want me to wait until i have an abcess drained an a buldging insis. hernia repaired. that is on for mon.
