Hi Friends,
Well, remember when I told you guys I wouldnt type anymore books? Im going to try my best to keep this short....BUT IM NOT PROMISING ANYTHING!! :) As you all know I cut my Cyclosporin to 200mg a day instead of 400mg a day, to try and get rid of the "OH MY GOD IM GREEN AND IM GONNA PUKE" feeling.
Well yesterday I was feeling a bit better as far as the upset stomach goes.
Now for something positive and VERY exciting for me. My Friends, I went to get my wrapping changed yesterday at the wound clinic...and something awesome happened, all 3 of my wounds shrank. Yes you heard me correctly.....THEY GOT SMALLER!!! and not just a little bit smaller, I could tell by just looking at them. As soon as the nurse took off my wrapping I knew, YAY!!!!!! Now, was it worth the being in bed all weekend feeling green? ....OF COURSE IT WAS!!!! Whats the saying? No Pain, No Gain. Now, would it be worth it to be like that for months and months? OF COURSE NOT...I have to be able to function. I also want to point out, I do NOT think this medication after 3 days made my wounds shrink, I honestly think God allowed me to have this gift this week. This has be a big spirit raiser for me, and has also given me hope that it may not be months and months before they are closed.
Regardless of the shrinkage, there is still wounds there, and these wounds no matter what size they may be DO NOT like to be messed with! I have said this over and over and I will continue to say my wounds, really dont like to be cleaned, they dont like direct air, the longer they are in direct air, the worse they hurt.
My dermatologist called me late afternoon yesterday, to see how I was feeling after cutting the medication in half, I told her I felt pretty good as far as not being sick to my stomach, we discussed it and we are going to boost it up to 300mg starting today. If I feel sick or get a headache that I cant kick, I will go back to 200mg. We discussed my wounds being smaller, and she also had an answer for me...remember in my last post she was going to ask the other Dermatologist about
debriding of my wounds? Guess what the answer is "ABSOLUTELY NO" "THE WOUND CLINIC IS NOT TO DEBRIDING THE WOUNDS". :) So, Im glad that Im going to be able to educate this wound clinic about
PG, YOU never know when one of my fellow PG'ers will be walking through those sliding electric doors of Valley Hospital Wound Clinic, I want to look out for the NEXT person.
Jan and Willow,

I always try to make appointments really early to get them over with. hehehe! So ladies, anyday but Tues and Friday and Im up for it. Just let me know when and where, or what we can do to pull this together :)
SARAH!!! :)
I loved the positive attitude my friend :) I agree, PG cant run us down!!!!!!!!! Sarah, I do not have any underlying disease and isnt it funny Im the one who started this PG thread here; the reason is because I could not find other forums strickly for PG, NOTHING and I knew, that people came here, and I also knew that Crohn's and UC both are underlying diseases, and if I could just talk to one person with PG that is what I was looking for, and its actually turned a little crazy there a number of us, and we mainly focus on PG ...I really havent seen anyone talk about
Crohn's in our "PG club" or UC even really. Sarah please come by more often and talk to us!!!!!!!! You can always ping me on MSN too! <3
The best thing I have done since I got told I have PG is start this PG thread. I honestly dont know what I would have done with out you guys. I probably would have the wound the size of Texas on my leg in 3 months if I didnt make this post because of the incorrect treatment I was receiving, so this goes out to each of you....THANK YOU!!! Thank you all for listening, for caring, and for just being here!!!! I love you all, and I pray for each of you and your families. I consider all of you a blessing in my life.
Much Love and Many Hugs,
Penny
