Hi Folks:

It's been 4 days since I had a capsule endoscopy and I'm yet to see the capsule go out. Anybody have this issue? Also, what happens next?

You'll definately need to call the Dr if it doesn't pass by Monday.  You'll have to go in for an x-ray to find out if it passed and you didn't notice, or if it's stuck.

I'm a Crohnie with a non-functioning j-pouch because I've got an ileostomy (due to peri-anal abcess), and I swallowed mine in Dec, it got stuck, then somehow (fistula we think) bypassed the ileostomy and ended up in the J-pouch that I have.  I finally had it removed during a scope in May.

I know that Dave will probably come along sometime too, his never passed, and ended up (WORSE CASE SCENARIO) causing problems a few years later where he had to have surgery.

So, like I said, please call the Dr on Monday and have them do an x-ray to see if it's still in there!!!

Had a capsule get stuck on 8/8, didn't know it when i turned in my belt and stuff, went across the street and had two cheeseburgers. that night the cramps started, eventually so bad went to er and had xray . . .sure enough capsule was stuck. admitted to hospital, on 6th day surgery scheduled, but half hour before passed capsule, postponed surgery . . .whew!

The first time I did a Capsule I saw it pass. I've done 2 more since then and I haven't seen them pass. I know that they did as I've had ct scans done since that are clean but I never saw anything. Granted I wasn't digging through my poop looking too hard for them either.

i had it done and i never looked for the camera. quite frankly i didnt care. i had confidence in my system that it would pass, especially since i had an upper GI series before the camera pill to ensure i did not have any strictures. i have no discomfort and my bowel movements and stool seems normal. if you feel fine, chances are in 4 days you've passed it by now. but if you feel uncertain and want closure, then yes, check with your GI.

I never saw mine pass and just kind of waited to see if I started feeling any pain or having any problems.  I didn't, so I'm sure it passed fine.  I think it depends on your gut situation as to whether or not it warrants a CT/Xray.

I never saw mine come out and I did not do anything.

If you can eat and have normal BM then you are fine.
Don't have to worry
