I didn't really get to know any of you as well as I'd hoped, and you didn't really get to know me. I'd said in some previous posts that my doctors were considering surgery very early on, that I was worried about this, and would try and talk them out of it.

Yesterday I got in touch with them and they told me the biopsies were clear for Crohn's, but that I *probably* have cancer. My surgery is Monday.

Guess I'm in the wrong forum now.

Oh Stasi, I am so sorry to hear of your cancer diagnosis. Please know that I will definetly keep you in my prayers that your surgery gets it all. Please stay in touch with us and let us know how you are doing. We had another member recently (sorry can't remember his name) had the same thing happen to him.

Hi stasi, so sorry try and stay positive sweetiei know its easy for me to say that as im not in your situation but it will help you to stay strong and fight this darn thing. good luck with the surgery will be thinking of you. let us know how your getting on after when you feel up to it  take care Bev x

Hun I'm so sorry to hear that. I was lucky in that for me it was the other way round - they suspected cancer but found Crohn's. Please don't feel your not welcome here as your diagnosis has changed, I'm sure people here will still be happy to hear from you. I wish you all the best with your surgery and hope you recover well, please do keep us updated

Good luck and remember that there are OTHER ways to care for this sort of situation. In this case, follow the rules and get better. You can always learn to deal with Crohns afterward.

CT scan came back clear, it's not spread. That's all the news for now.

Quick update.

I've had the surgery, and am now home recovering. They took out about 3ft of bowel and 46 glands. The cancer had spread to 4 of the glands, which is bad news, but I guess better than it could have been. Some good news is that I'm clear of Crohn's, so if I'm lucky enough to beat the cancer I don't also have a life long disease to contend with.

Just need to get over this surgery now, and the chemotherapy, and start living my life again. Focus on today and tomorrow, and try not to worry about what might happen.
