Thanks for your replies. I'm bummed to find out that steak bothers my daughter, because it is her absolute favorite. She's only 9 years old, was just diagnosed in March '09, and got incredibly better on prednisone, pentasa, VSL#3, omegas, calcium, Forvia. It seems tho, that she is flaring up again (rotten egg smelling gas and a few stomach aches again) and it's only 3 months since we stopped the prednisone. How do I get a nine year to eat fish??? She refuses, including fish sticks. This disease is a bummer!
I would LOVE to find a more natural way to help her than the 6MP that her doc suggests as a possible next step. I'm considering probiotic enemas (currently taking orally: VSL#3, Culturelle, and Custom Probiotics.com 6-strain blend), olive leaf extract (antibacterial, but tastes AWFUL), and or looking into fecal transplantation.
