vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv-----------I HAVE A SUGGESTION-----------vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
I always thought it happened because when you have a cold, the excessive mucas makes you swallow a lot. I you swallow a lot then you are stimulating the saliva glands so after awhile they don't even close up they just stay open. It drives me CRAZY. I have the problem right now, that's how I found this site lol. I found that if I relax my mouth (and jaw) completely - even to the point of just letting the saliva flow - I can get it to ease up after a minute or so. Also, sometime the body just needs a reset button. Taking a shower is a good reset button, and you can also try the suggestion made earlier about letting the water hit your throat. Another good reset button is to get scared. If you don't have a scary movie on hand then get on youtube and find something scary. I recently saw the preview for Legion (the one with the old lady) and it scared the saliva right back in :)
Whatever you try, just realize that if you keep spitting you just make it continue because you keep stimulating those glands!
