Afraid of Swine Flu and Flu Shot

So...got the flu shot 10 years ago then experienced the flu terrible. After telling my Dr. about it she said, it was a fluke...do it again. So the next year, did it again...Got super sick..bad flu! Seemed like it went through my whole body...my kidney's hurt, puking and dehydration and then to hospital for fluids.  Next visit to the Dr. I told her I got the flu again after getting the flu shot. Again, she said fluke! So once again..the following year did it again!!!  Third time...bad flu! I don't get the flu shot anymore! My Doctor told me I get an " A-typical" response...whatever that means! (I'm just one big A-typical it seems)  All I know is... that Yes I am worried about the H1N1 flu. Being immuned supressed my Dr told me just this week that I would qualify for the early vaccine because of my Crohnes. She also said that the first wave of vaccines come out in a the nose spay is the "Live" ..and NOT to get that one...but the following ones that come out.

I asked her what if I just take a wait and see attitude. She said, that in the Northern Hemishpere the medicine given has NOT shown resistance if taken with in 72 hours of the diagnosis.  However, in the Southern Hemisphere it  IS showing some resistance. I live in the Northern so...I guess I'm gonna wait and see. I'll probably end up in ER with it and then have to wait with all the other people who waited. :( I really don't think anyone is really prepared for how this could all turn out!! It's all very frustrating not to know what is right for us Immune Suprresed...

I have in the past received a flu shot pretty much every year... but this year for some reason I was a little nervous about all the "talk" around this particular virus.  Please check out the link above... and then dig a little further before making up your minds' as to what course of action you will take.

There is so much controversy surrounding this vaccine.  It is suppose to have Thimerasol - a preservative that contains mercury.  This preservative was banned in California in 2004 because of worries about this drug being linked to the increase in autism rates.  It also containes adjuvants of AS03 and MF59 with are squalene oil based... Squalene has been linked to Desert Storm Syndrome.  With all this to consider - it just seems to me that his may be a case of the "cure" being worse than the disease.

Up your Vitamin D intake - there are a lot of studies out there about the benefits of Vitamin D (especially during the winter months when are intakes because of lack of sunshine in most northern climates is inadequate).  I'm taking 2400 iu now and will most likely up my intake to 5,000 iu in a month or so.  Vitamin C as we all know is of course a benefit as well.
