It has been three weeks since I started taking Humira, at this time my body has not responded to the meds. Is there any one that has taken Humira and can inform me on how long it took for humira to take an effect. redface

I have not taken Humira, but I have heard that it can take up to a few shots to start noticing an effect. So hang in there. I might also add that diet DOES play a huge role. This past summer, i was taking remicade, entocort and methotrexate, which is alot, and i was still kind of flaring. Doc said i was already at the pinnacle of treatment. So i walked away thinking i'd try a reasonable attempt at the SCD diet people rave about on here. I'm a skeptic, but it did help for me, and i didn't follow the diet to a 'T' either. Just some encouraging words...hang in there.

Mine took 3-4 months. It takes at least three months to enter your system.

I waited it out with pentasa and prednisone, but it came around.

My first Humira treatment was with 4 shots.  second one was 2 shots.  Now on 1 shot every other week.  Seemed to me that it worked great after a month.  Used to be on Remicade until my body said no more infushions.  What a god send humira has been.  No more going to the hospital and sitting there for 4-5hrs.  Now i just give my self a shot at home.  good luck to you.  yeah

It can take a bit more then three months to reach a theraputic.
