My dr might want to start me on Cimzia. Does anyone know anything about
the drug? Side effects? How well it works?
Thanks

I was on cimzia for about
12 months. nurse came to my house each month to give me the shots. i did not have any adverse reactions to it. Unfortunately, last month i had a blockage requiring 6 days in hospital. so not sure if was the drug for me. I am still on prednisone right now and am starting remicade. Dr sais some patients do better on certain ones. I read a lot on this topic and there is evicdence that about
30% or so will see improvements when another tnf drug is tried after another one failed. so worth the effort. Will see if that works. if that does not, my next option is surgery.

I have been on cimzia for 5-6 months and it really hasnt done anything for me. I used to be on remicade but I started making antibodies against it, so my body was killing off all the remicade. It used to work REALLY well for me, it was my miracle drug until I started to make antibodies against it. So my doctor put me on cimzia because its in the same family as remicade in terms of fighting crohns. But the cimzia hasnt been working for me and I just had my last dose yesterday. Now I will be on a new drug called tysabri, which nobody really knows much about
. I hope tysabri will make me feel better and I hope cimzia or remicade will help make you feel better too :)
