Snow , Up where VV resides , they are warning people not to drive at all. Really bad snow and ice. Almost as cold as his scrutinies of my spelling and punctuation . He does indeed know how to sling it. Snow that is . He has the scoop on connoting , dont he ? But dont expect a quick rebuttal . I suspect his digits are clinched in the shape of a spade handle and that may give him frozen , paws.

Sniper it is a -11 wind chill in Kansas this morning, and we have around a foot of snow that is drifting...

I am seriously considering moving to Florida.

Too hot in Florida. Its 75 this morning here but will be in the 30s this evening. What we say here is, if you dont like the weather, wait a minute.

Voo-Doo AGAIN! It happens every year when the sno 'er a a snow blows in, but I think it must be VV, with the -3 wind chill bone dry rob a Okie of any cheap snow thrills weather that blew in here from the north. Really I seceretly wish for a north westerner to come along so I can send this artic air back up theirs. Um, sorry I meant back up there.shocked Opps! Did I say that?

   That ole weather line must be Seminole, if you guys use it down there too. In Oklahoma we always credit that one to a famous Cherokee who had a way with a rope. If he were still around, he would have some plain talk to put a cork in all this s@#% talk. We're back to that again, and here I am sounding like a tourism ad on a mission. I guess we all dream of putting a cork in it, ceptn' when we can't go. I missed you guys.

sniper, i refer you to a Rocon (sp) a two wheel drive motorcycle . you could ride all year in any weather . even in the swamps.. goes through 2 foot of water... look em up....

sno... i notice you said a 16 wheeler? i knew you were missing something but i didnt think it was 2 wheels! real trucks have 18 wheels!

i had my 2.5 ton truck which was 10 wheel drive, but i just sold it a couple weeks ago..

VV, we sent you the clod from here. it has set new records for here by the big water. we have been 7-9 the last 2 nights and some places got to near zero which is all part of global warming i guess.. why is it, and you can look this up, every time the loons have global warming conferance the country sets cold and snow records.. hmm?

good to see you again, margie. yeah, i got a new one all made up....even dressed him in a little ghillie suit, so there's no mistake. all poised and ready to be deployed to the snow drift of my choosing, if you know who gets out of line. i'm sure your little their -there joke went over his head......there, their, they're ....it's all the same to him.....spell checker is of no use.

navy, i'd be coming down I35 and sniper would be coming up hwy71. problem is i know you guys got hammered, too. i'm afraid my ridin' is over for this year. we got 16'' and 50mph winds that drifted the dang stuff 8 to 10ft in places. the way it looks around here is what it looks like after maybe 4 or 5 snows. trouble is, this was from the ground up in about 8 hours. below 0 tonight. will know by morning how much.

rando, don't think i wanna trade with you either. ok, sniper go ahead and laugh...

just outside the front door, it was waist high.......when i got past the edge of the front step, it was armpit high! of course, i had to shovel most of that out of the way, just to get the picture. the stuff was almost 3 panels up on a 4 panel garage door. it's not like we don't get snow, but at 62, i can only remember a half dozen worse than this for our first snowfall. maybe i'm just getting too old to handle it like i used to.

Try Northern Alberta roads guys - yeah - they don't call us Canadians for nothing!
We've got about 3 ft of the white stuff here. And that's not bad ... usually there's way more of it!
Oh and lets not forget about the black ice underneath it all too! now try driving on that everyday, hoping to god you don't have to get out and sqwat to go #2 when there's a wind chill that would make popsicles feel warm.

Geeeez VV , I can still spell ,SNOW, COLD, FREEZING , and SHOVEL. Thats some winter wonderland you have, there. Make sure you put a nice warm ghillie suit on your dolly and dont prick yourself . I know those numb fingers are hard to work with and those pins are sharp. It got down into the high 30s last night (brrrr) but we are back up to the 50s today. I was thinking about you this morning as I sat out on the back porch with my hot cup of coffee . I said to myself, yep , old VV should be through shoveling his drive almost to that large berm the snowplow threw as it ran over his mailbox . All kidding aside, I dont know how you do it.
Sofee, Old VV can shovel cobwebs too.

rolleyes I'm green with envy. Huge windchill, ten feet of snow, drifting...sounds like an ice place to be ! yeah
Of course I know I have a reputation for being hare-brained, if not an axle short of a trailer. But you know, what use is a river if you can't go skating with trucks on it ? turn
Hereabouts we are lucky to get more than a few days worth of snow on the hilltops at 3000'. I met a man recently who was discussing the "bad" winter we had last year when the ski-tow operators made money for the first time in a decade, and he said his 18 year old son had never seen snow before then. If you don't live in the hilly areas, you just don't get it in the UK anymore, not more than an overnight shower.
idea So if you guys are looking for something to export.... snow to build igloos to solve the UK housing crisis. With the sort of politicians we have in charge of the dwindling UK water and energy supplies, it should be an easy sell. smilewinkgrin smurf

Speaking of blowing snow, wheres VV ? Ohhhh, I think I know. Snohare, we get snow here about every 25 or 30 years. It usually melts real fast but a few years ago we got enough to stay a few days. Grown adults were out in it making snow men and having snow ball fights and just acting like children. It was as if they had all lost their minds. I was shocked. Yep, also I almost froze . My wife throws a wicked snowball curve that can go right down your collar..

I envy all you guys the cold weather - it is so hot here and only getting worse - one day last week it was 42 degress celcius - what I would'nt do for a white Xmas.
Nice to see some 'old' faces posting again :)

   Across the pond, Do you have those giant slingshots intended for slinging water balloons in water ball on fights?  Just like us Americans to fill balloons to sling water at each other when we have no mud to sling. (Not a problem right now with Obama in office and Tiger busted.) The real fun comes when you make huge snowballs, put them in an out building or garage to slightly melt them,  then leave them out overnight to get good and firm. In the morning, fire them from the 6 foot long slingshots. This requires 1-3 people, unless the trees are just right. It's much more fun than a pop-bottle rocket war, and nobody calls the police until the paramedics do.

Did Jo call us old farts, old farters, or just a bunch old fart jokers?

eyes On second thoughts, are they safe for accident prone operators ? Probably best not to get one's sweatpant drawcord trapped in the elastic...smhair...fail to set the trigger properly while loading....say the wrong thing to the henchman.... but ho, the joy of seeing it land out of a clear dawn sky on an unsuspecting neighbour.... shocked smurf (My neighbour hails from Thailand. Not much of a snowballing tradition there, apparently. confused )
