Has part of your colon ever just died?

After 9 days of high fevers, diahrea , some vomitting and two battery of test that all found nothing my GI called and says he thinks its crohns!! I have never flared like this i had very little pain in my diseased area...he wants to do a sigmoid and im scared might find my colon just ... Killed over!

My cousin's did.  she had her l. intestine romeved.  things moved along fine until they ented the LI and then everything stopped.  she is doing well now.
