I have been in and out of the hospital 4 times now in 6 months.  Thought I was flaring/blocking from the Crohn's.  This last time they did an EGD to rule out any blocking, because CT scans were "normal".  Turns out I have gastroparesis.  At least I have an answer to why I am in sooo much pain, but it's not something else I want to deal with.  Dr. put me on reglan to help aid digestion and nausea, but so far all I want to do is vomit all the time. 

Anyone else here with gastroparesis? Does it eventually subside? Or there forever?

Thank you crohnielass. That website was very informative.  It says that medications such as "hyoscyamine; Bentyl; Levsin; and narcotics" all can effect gastroparesis.  Turns out I've been on ALL these meds recently! Aye! Anyway, hopefully I'll get meds straightened out now.  I am only on pentasa, reglan, and folic acid.  So far (it's only been 2 days) it sems to be better. But the reglan is causing me to have some anxiety issues, which I am not used too.  We'll see! Thanks again!

Minty, I saw your post and there is a lady named Blue-Jet on the chonic pain forum that has this problem too. If you ever need someone to talk to I know she would be more than willing to discuss this with you. You could could do a post like the one here. Hope you are feeling better.

Some people with diabetes have trouble with gastroparesis. You may do a search and get some expert advice there. The cause may be different but they may have some advice. Sorry you are having so much trouble with this. Did they tell you why you have it? When people with diabetes have trouble, this is usually from nerve damage. It does not sound like fun at all......

I had a spell where I had the same symptoms. I had the same anxiety symptoms when taking Reglan, and had to stop taking it. I found that when I took it in the morning, I was fine, but I couldn't take it at night because I felt so restless and couldn't get comfortable and sleep.

I eat smaller meals, much earlier now, and don't have problems as much. I have a prescription for phenergan to take when I'm nauseous. It works well.

Hope you find some relief from your symptoms. I know how annoying and uncomfortable it can be.
