I have been on Pentassa for the last 5 years and my full head of hair has really thinned out. Is there any hope of getting my hair back???

As your doc to change your med. Pentesa made my hair fall out too, Asacol hasn't but I have other side effects from it. Folic Acid should help & I was told by my doc that my hair will grow back, we shall see. I feel for you. Go to Pentesa's website and look at the side effects a lot of docs will tell you that they have never heard of Pentesa causing hairloss because they want you to continue to take it.

I'm in the same boat. In fact, I had to have it cut today - it's too long to be longer in any way. The woman at the hair place suggested Nioxin. I just bought a starter kit. The reviews look pretty good... I also take vitamins, but I still have thin hair...

PS I should also say that my hair was normal before steroids and all these meds...

My uncle is a phar and he even said its the meds that is causing the hair loss. Within a wk of me stopping Pentesa my hair loss stopped. I dont know if its growing back, but I dont have as much hair every where, just normal hair loss when brushing now;0)

I was on Asacol for almost a year and was losing my hair the entire time. I stopped taking it and my hair stopped falling out within a week also. It grew back--don't worry.

 

A few years later it started falling out again and I can't seem to figure out why this time...but I'm sure it will get better and worse just like this disease.
