I am confused. I thought MAP was a bacteria not a virus and since it was a bacterial based infection antibiotics could help? Bacterium vs viral....
I am new to this disease and to the forum. Due to discrepancies with my 1st GI I am now starting completely over.
Where do you all find these studies? How do you keep the information straight? Does it get easier with time?
I am very interested in anti-map therapy after researching possible causes of Crohns. That's not to say I would not try more traditional treatments. So far I have been to 4 GIs. Two refused to even discuss diet or supplements, one called anti map research hocus pocus and the last one has researched anti map, worked with William Chamberlin and is willing to try traditional medications with additional focus on diet/supplements and work on the antibiotic theory as well. He's a keeper.
What I have noticed is that there are passionate people on this forum, there are multiple sides to all debates, a lot of information is exchanged, but the people that post about anti-map therapy don't seem to post on their progress and it is difficult for me to tell the anti-map success stories.
Next....how do you recognize those people that are posting to steer you towards some specific treatment?
Thanks all for your help!
