CT Enterography/gastric emptying tests?

I've never done the gastric emptying test, it was recommended to me once but it seemed worthless for me to do. The CT enterography was the best test I ever did. The contrast they used for me was actually 1 litre of whole milk. Very easy. The CT enterography I had done was the only test that truly painted a whole picture of what was going on inside of me, it found a perforation, abscesses and a fistula, along with significant narrowing. They inject you with iodine and it makes you feel like you're peeing during the exam, weirdest feeling ever but it was a very easy test. Only concern is that it has so much radiation so you can't really keep repeating it unfortunately.

not sure where u are from but im in Ontario, Canada. When i had my CT Enterography i had to drink this prep stuff. i had to drink only a third of what you need for a prep It was 4 big cups though and tasted not that great and wellllll you know what it makes you do and it started right when i was to go in the CT so sitting in that machine was rather unpleasant and then i ran for the bathroom right after. And ya the contrast makes you feel like you are peeing yourself noone warned me ahead of time lol. I drove home after but i was in the bathroom for a bit before the drive home. My crohn's is in my small intestine so it was a good test though cause my scopes were clean other than a couple of small ulcers and they always made me feel like a hypo. I have ulceration and narrowing in my small int that was not seen until they did this test.

Thanks for all the advice/experiences. Hopefully the contrast won't make me sick, or I'll be getting a hotel room, heh.

I'm actually really excited to have the gastric emptying test done, because a lot of my odder symptoms match up with gastroparesis. We'll see. I'll report back Monday!! :D

Suzanne, they gave me salt and pepper too. I guess it all depends on where you have it done.
