My Vitamin D level was at 17, so my GI doc had me take 1000 IUs per day. Over time my level was slowly increasing but not enough or fast enough. So my GI doc increased it to 2,000 IUs per day, and my level is now up to 30. (Optimum level per my primary care doc is 40 as it really needs to be at least that in order to help prevent osteoporosis).
Sorry for rambling! I take Nature Made Liquid Softgels 1000 IUs (D3) twice per day.
Note---Since taking Vitamin D3 I've noticed a big difference in how I feel ~ way less overall body aches, less fatigue, and more energy.
