Kaiser insurance?

Does anyone have Kaiser insurance? I'm trying to get a job and interviewing at Kaiser, and I'm wondering if their insurance is adequate.

I'd love to hear what you find out. The company I am essentially working for uses Kaiser. I've been afraid of having to fight for adequate coverage, so I've remained a contractor and used my own individual (high risk pool) insurance. I worry I'd have to change GIs ... would they approve my meds, etc. It's the only thing really holding me back from being an employee.

Kaiser is an option where I work. I chose another insurance for the same reasons sr559 listed. However, a couple of people I know at work are happy with the insurance. One has Rheumatoid Arthritis and the other has cancer. They sometimes have had to submit second requests for tests and meds, but both have, in the end, been approved for everything. I know in my area, Cleveland OH, Kaiser only had 3 GI's listed on their plan. I need more choices than that.

I have kaiser insurance and I love it but am paying an arm and a leg for it. I would say, though, that, from what I hear, their employee benefits are outstanding. I live in California, though, and don't know if location makes a difference or not but I interviewed at a Kaiser up north and their employee benefits seemed uber great.

Thanks to all of you!

I guessed that it was better as a Kaiser employee than as just a Kaiser insurance patient, but figured I'd ask.

I'm so afraid of what it'll be like when I do eventually change insurance companies...getting coverage for humira and possibly changing doctors...EEEK! But I'll deal with it when it happens!

I have been with Kaiser since 1982 and I love it. I have always gotten great care from them. I get the insurance thru my employer and my benefits are great. I pay $20 to see the doc, and $5 for generic prescriptions. I have never had any problems getting my meds. Hope that helps some.

my HMO here in wa was bought by kaiser about 15 years ago.. no big changes. they cover all my crap when needed and surgeries etc.. more co pays now, but who hasnt had that go up..
