hi everyone-
I feel bad for always posting questions on here, but here's another one!
My cutting seton fell out a few weeks ago and in the beginning I felt really good down there. Had a follow up with the doc who didn't want to see me again for a few weeks, to continue to allow healing. He seemed surprised that I was still having some drainage at that time.
It's been out about three weeks, and I've still got some drainage- not a lot, but enough that I still need to use the gauze pads. I have a tiny hole to the side of where my incision was, I guess a fisutla, but there is nothing draining from that. I do still have a bump where the seton was, which I think is mostly scar tissue but it sometimes still has an ache, like it did when the seton was in. There also seems to be some scar tissue just inside the anus that is really hard to clean after a BM- even with a shower spray or squirt bottle. I always have more drainage after a BM and the scar tissue spot feels more sensitive then as well.
My question is does it seem like the scar tissue or whatever is left in there could be still creating some sort of pocket of infection that has to keep draining? I'm thinking like diverticulitis but just right there at the end of the anus?
Should I call my doc and schedule an appointment for this week?
Thanks for any thoughts...
