My daughter has recently had a very strong body odor, that lingers even when she leaves the room. It's a chemically smell is all I can say. Ammonia or methane or vinegar (from what others have guessed). She has crohn's and has not been well for a few months. This odor has me alarmed to say the least....anyone have any ideas???

Dear docdundidit, while I was on entocort my wife, and family immediately noticed an odor. It did not matter if I just got out of the shower, I could scrub hard and I still stunk! My doctor did not believe me until another patient
told him the same. It took about 2 or 3 weeks after being off of the drug before the odor went away. I wish you and your daughter the best. mike

I've had an odor for a while, but it stems from a fistulotomy I had years ago. (Or so I think it does lol) Wish I could be of more assistance; however mine does not smell like a "chemical." I heard Candida (bacteria) could give off a chemical smell, may be something to look into.

Hi, I don't know why it is but I had the same problem. I didn't even know about it until a friend told me...said it was ammonia or iodine or something that smelt like chemicals. It's very distinct and happens when I'm ill and it's mostly gone away as I have gotten older.
