Vediolizumab - anyone on the trial?

My daughter, Jerica, who is now 20, is having another sericous flare and her Gastro said she was a good candidate for the study of Vedolizumab.

Any one here partake in any studies? Is this a good idea or what?

Nope I'm not but would be if not on the Cimzia trial or if it doesn't work. I think my gastro clinic said they have two people on the Vedo trial but it's too soon to tell if it's working for them. If it's like the Cimzia trial it'll be great: free everything. Vedo is also safer than Tysabri because it apparently dosn't have the PML risk.

hi!
actually, after all the preliminary tests were done, she didn't qualify as her white blood cell count wasn't high enough. With her, you never could go by her blood work. So, she is now taking Humira. We are hoping and praying that this will work.

She has a bad cold with cough right now and I hope she won't get and infections!

That's too bad she didn't qualify! I'm also 20 years old (male) and I'm just starting the initial screening tests to see if I'm eligible. I've tried the full gamut of medications and didn't have any luck with Remicade but some success with Azathioprine. Unfortunately I've been flaring since Christmas with quite a lot of bleeding.

We'll see if this research treatment does any good!
