My mouth is killing me!!

The inside of my mouth feels like it's on fire. The soft tissue on the inside of my cheeks and lips is so red and
swollen, my tongue and gums are very red too. I'm having a hard time eating and drinking. I do get mouth involvement
so this is not new, but I usually have medicine, but it's Sunday and I'm out of it. So I was wondering if any of you
had some natural remedies to help me out, just something to ease the discomfort.

I have to admit I now use oral ladocaine with my mouth issues

but cough drops weakly work in a pinch

I use Aphthasol for mouth sores, but it sounds like you have all over discomfort. How about asking your dentist for a for a numbing liquid? My step-mom is a hygienist and gives me some sort of liquid that just numbs my mouth. It's very helpful so that I can get a little eating in before it wears off.

I have never had mouth problems, but like all of us that have Crohn's it is all different.  I am currently giving myself shots of Humira and would like to hear feedback from anyone else that has been taking them.  I would also like to hear from some women that have vaginal-anal fistulas and how you are dealing with them.

Magic mouth wash....Ask your doc about it, If he doesn't know , talk to an orthodontist.

hey dunny, i have real bad throat, mouth and tongue issues that is so bad I'm on SDI, myh dr preescribed magic mouth wash, but it doesn't work for me, only pred has taken that inflammation down and when it's intolreable I have to take pain med's. like i have off my pred yesterday and it flared right back upm my gi wants me to start remicade, Ive had like you 2 resection surgeries and 9ft of small bowel removed so i do have narrowing and inflammation at that area but it has moved to throat,mouth tongue, i get trophy cankersores, under my lips on my checks and tongue, and what that looks like is what i have in my throat, so you are not alone.

Sniper. "magic mouthwash" I wonder if thats the same as Dr. Poppavichs mouthwash I normally use. The reason
I ask is, Dr. Poppavichs is good, but takes a long time to work. So if there's a better one, I would use it!!

Hey Sniper, I looked up magic mouthwash, and it has all the same ingredients as the one I'm prescribed.

I haven't been regular with my posts, but believe Crohns is caused by some sort of parasite from moisst environments. I am taking Humira shots at home after being on Remicade for a year, and yes it helps tremendously. I don't have bowel blockages anymore and have not been in the hospital for 2 years. I am starting to feel my eyes having black spots recently and am wondering if it's from getting older or if it's from Crohns, I am 35. It sounds to me like pharma meds are not doing anything. They didn't for me so I started Remicade, it worked. then Humira, it works. I won't ever not live with a little bit of pain in life but at least I was able to get out and exercise and boast my self-confidence. I have 2 abcesses still in my transending but konly feel them really bad when my shots are about to be given or I get stressed or depressed. I've had pyrodermal gangrenosal, psoriasis, arthritis etc... but I can say that Humira has helped me to gain my life back. Everyone is different ,that's why this form of comminication is so important.

Dunny , this stuff works in minutes. Numbs up the hurting parts well. Only problem is I cant swallow it and my throat gets sores too. But it helps my mouth and I can get a little peace.

If you're desperate, try Oracort. It's an oral steroid paste that you can put on the inflammation and ulcers. A dentist or doc can prescribe it.

does anybody with the mouth ulcers and throat issues have problems swollowing? i mean like certain food, because just yesterday I chocked on some food and had to make myself throw up so I didn't have to go to ER, it was close, my throat feels like swollen when my mouth and tongue has leasions on it, it's just hard to swollow food, I've tried all the stuff mouth stuff you guys are talking about but it is a temporary fix, mind needs to get fixed internally through med's. thats what Ive dicovered and I've had cd for 40 years, only my throat and mouth since 1992, still along time

Artist guy, I've never had swallowing problems, but my tonsils do get involved. They get red and swollen
and sometimes dotted with tiny ulcers. but that really doesn't hurt like my tongue, and the inside of my
cheeks and lips.
Sniper, I'm gonna ask for some miracle mouthwash!!

I use magic mouth wash. Call clark solution. helps with the pain for few mins then the pain back again. Because my doctor said thats all they have really help with the pain. But like how would he feel with mouth full ulcers and can't eat or drink anything barely. But mash potatoes and mac cheese because won't hurt them anything else make them bigger and even more painful. Have be careful when brush your teeth not hit one.
