hi to everyone in the crohns forum

I am just logging into the crohns forum, i did post a couple of comments last week and got some useful comments. Just thought i would introduce myself properly because that is what the moderator asks us to do, better late than never.
Originally dagnosed with UC 28yrs ago, had total colectomy and j pouch 15yrs ago. Continued having trouble of varying degrees for the last 15yrs and have now been diagnosed with CD. I will be seeking the support of the forum members on a regular basis because this is basically the first time i have had the opportunity to discuss 'my bowels' in the last 28yrs with people who understand. i hope i might be of some support to you all out there.

thanks elizabeth, i wish i had known about this web site a long time ago. The long road wouldn't have seemed so lonely. I am currently awaiting a scope on the 13th of April to give me a definitive diagnosis of CD. As i said i was diagnosed with UC all those years ago and then had surgery 15 yrs ago. Things were never right but nobody would really take me on, so i just carried on and presumed that what i had was the best i could expect. My symptoms of urgency etc was much improved but now i have a different set of symptoms. I am hoping that they can change my medications to something more specific for CD. At present i am on 125mg of Azathoprin but it doesnt really have much effect. Anyway, thank you for your welcome, hope to speak again soon.

Welcome to healing well Chatter! there are lots of experienced and compasionate folks here willing to help and I agree it's very nice to be able to discuss things not normally condusive to "proper" conversation.

Thanks to you all for a really warm welcome. Do you know, you all sound so cheerful despite all the obvious problems.
Just laughing at the comment from artist guy, about making too much noise in the bathroom, my husband laughed also and added 'don't forget the noise in the bedroom too'. big problem with the wind!!! Oh that feels good to talk about it, your right its not the normal polite topic of conversation, which can be difficult when it can take up so much of your life. I really could have done with this forum many years ago when i was really struggling, treatments have changed so much i am just catching onto the Vit D and calcium options.
