Just got told I have Crohns 03/31/10

There's 578 pages of threads on the Crohn's board. I sometimes go to page 578, or whatever, and work my way backwards through the threads, clicking on the ones which most interest me. If learning more about Crohn's is what you want to do, I can't think of a much better way to do it, personally. You can also search subjects of particular interest, although the drawback to that is that searches are site-wide, meaning all forums are included. You can tell which threads are in the Crohn's forum, however, by looking at the URL - if it says "f=17" then that means it's the Crohn's forum.

Also, yeah, don't frighten yourself about the scary stuff. The worst-case scenarios are just that: worst case. And not likely to happen. But do stick with the meds. Good luck :p

Ya i have been reading and reading a lot of the forums, and so greatful they are here, When I was first diagnosed with Fibromyalgia I found Fibrohugs site, it was helpful, but it wasn't as bad learning about that as Most people are around the same, major muscle pain, don't reach rem often or stay there long enough to matter, Don't get me wrong, even that took a toll on me, it took me a long time to get back from a lot of pain all the time to dealing with it pretty well, I still have my days with that but least there was no surgeries in future for having it, and no pain from eating.
And I'm sure i'm not telling any of you anything you haven't already been thru, however this last flair up literally scared me bad, Not to sound gross, but I had diarrhea, and was throwing up something brown, not knowing if it was blood or what, pain like never before. I honestly felt like that was the end. So, I am going to take your advice and start a journal, however I do got to say I'm still kinda scared to eat. I have eaten little but just things like toast and jello, eggs, and tuna, chicken.

Hey haulmark7, Thanks for writing, right now i'm still in the "trying to understand phase" since this is only day 4 of knowing, and meds. I'm really not sure if what I am on is going to help yet or not, However I have found myself glued to this website and googling everything I don't understand..lol Hows everything with you? good I hope..smile

Hey Tink one thought for at least your fibro pain, are you taking Vitamin D3? I have my vitamin D levels checked and was found to be low. I added 3000 units of Vitamin D3 to my med regimen and I no longer have as many fibro flares anymore. Give it a try, most of us Crohnies are low on it anyways. Just be careful and don't add TOO much or it could be toxic. Most on the forum are taking anywhere from 2000 - 5000 units. Good luck!
