I was just dx in March with Crohns. I am 40 yr. old so I guess I am fortunate that it waited this long to show (altho I've had "issues" for 6 yr . prior.)
I have a couple of questions.
Has anyone else experienced severe pain on the lower right side but not had any D or other "potty" issues? I have had pain for almost 3 weeks now. My dr. says its just part of the crohns. I haven't heard of anyone else "flaring" or having this pain. It is sometimes so bad that I can't function. I do understand that that is the area the crohns is most active. I do have it all thru the colon and small bowel.
Dr. put me on darvocet for pain but I hate taking it. Next question, Dr. keeps bringing up Remicade but I've just been dx and started on lialda and also am on pred. (weaning from 40; now at 30). Does this seems like a HUGE jump to such a strong medication? It seems that most people go thru many more meds before getting to the big guns like remi or humira.
I'm a bit worried.
and last, any one else have crohns and taking lialda? I'm taking 4 pills a day right now, just wondering what you think of it long term?
I just can't seem to understand how this much pain can be "normal" part of having crohns without having all the issues at the tail end.
Also, this forum has been a huge source of understanding and has helped me heaps in the last few months....so thank you to all of you for sharing.
