At mayo.. checking in

I thought I would check in...

First.. yes.. epitome of efficiency.. that is accurate. They are amazing though it does tend to leave one in a whirlwind. I am completely overwhelmed...

Second... pity party.. they are making me repeat the colonoscopy and the ct enterography .. plus they did a tb test, a chest xray, a lot of blood work, and a stool test....I am most upset over the colonoscopy... I just don't handle those well...and I am not in the comfort of my own home..my own bathroom..and yes I know... but like I said.. pity party.

Third... I am here until at least thursday.. that sucks.. financially this is going to hurt us bad..which doesn't help the stress.

Everyone so far has been amazing and helpful and I am thankful for that. I am not sure why I am crying..its been so overwhelming. They won't hint at a diagnosis until all tests are back.

So start the moviprep at 6pm.. second dose in the morning and colonoscopy at 10:45.. the ct would be the next day. And than reevaluated.

We are staying at townplace suites.. and they have been amazing as well.. very kind ..and its clean and the price is right..we had no trouble finding parking this morning.. we chose to drive because the shuttle ends at 4 here and my hubby was nervous we would get stuck.. but like I said no trouble parking..

you guys rock.. and I can't thank you enough for all the love and support.... will let you know what happens next....

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but how do you get to go to the Mayo clinic?  Did your GI send you there or did you go on your own? 

:-( I would be upset about having to do bowel prep in an hotel too, June. My heart & thoughts are with you. I hope it all goes smoothly.

Do you have hot water bottles etc for during and afterwards? Can you send someone out to get some? They might help.

Good luck. I absolutely hate not being in the comfort of my own home when I'm sick. But your husband sounds like he'll make you comfortable. Hope everything goes well.

I thought it was a proper hospital, with beds? I really am surprised that they are making you sleep out, especially for bowel prep :-(.

Do they have beds for anyone, or do they do everything on an outpatient basis?

Any of those preps always completely destroy me (done it 3 times). Just gotta push through until its over. I hope you are doing well. The prepping is definitely always the worse part for me. I always just gotta have mindless tv or movies going to help me ignore the pain and grumbling in my stomach. Heating pads help me. I also have my boyfriend brush my hair or rub my back to give my mind something to concentrate on when the pain is really bad. Also, hygiene/baby wipes and desitin cream for the soreness. Else wise, its just about trying to find things to do to that keep your mind occupied. Really a mind over matter moment.
