Is this normal for CD?

First, let me say that normally I tend to have more C than D...that being said...I hadn't had a BM for a couple days, then last night it seemed like it ALL wanted to come out. Only, not all at once. Over the past 12 hours, I feel like I have to go constantly, but when I do, only a little comes out, and it burns like he!! coming out. I actually went to the store and bought diaper rash cream because I was burning so bad. Anyway, it's like having a bladder infection, where you think you need to go, it burns, but barely anything comes out...but not my bladder.

This doesn't happen to me. Usually if I do have D, it just comes out...maybe I have to go more frequently, but never feeling like I have to go and barely anything coming out.

Does this happen to other people....is it a "normal" thing for other people with this DD??

That sounds completely normal for me. When i'm flaring i have to use the diaper rash cream (I like A&D the best). It's all water sometimes. Embarasingly, I have to wear a maxi pad in the back area cuz i'll leak in between visits to the bathroom. Sometimes going 10-15 times a day. But that's when i'm flaring real bad.
I take Immodian AD when it gets bad, but if your prone to C than it might not be a good idea to take it.

Do you have active disease in your colon?  I had something similar to that happen to me when I got back from an international vacation that I took in December/January.  It was horrible, and about 10 days later I was scheduled for a c-scope, which ended up finding active CD in my TI, which was expected, but also in my colon, which was new.  Thus, my doctor said it was probably bc I had a reeaaaaalllly bad flare in my colon, and it was effecting my rectum, thus not making it easy to pass.. 

So, based off of what I was told -- yes, especially if you are flaring.

Could it be that you have some hard stool that is not passing, and only little loose stools are getting around it??

I'm not sure if I have active disease right now. I'm due for a scope...was on blood thinners and had more pressing health concerns that I had to get past and now I'm planning the scope. I do suspect that it's active though, since I've had a little more D for some time than is normal for me.

Jeny-Is A&D the brand? I bought stuff called Butt Paste...I've heard from mommies that it helps for so much more than diaper rash, and it seems to be helping some.

Kaz- not sure about that...but I guess it's possible.

Thanks for answering so quickly...sometimes when things change with your symptoms it's nice to have reassurance that it's part of the disease.

Becky, A&D is the brand I believe, it's right with the diaper rash cream. The reason I like it so much is that I found some of the rash cream burns when you put it on and A&D does not. It's in a brown and yellow box, u can get a jar or a tube. But, if your having luck with Butt Paste, then stick with what works. :)

I have sometimes been like this going 25+ times to the toilet.

the only thing that could stop it was pred.

It finally stopped, but things are far from normal with me still. Wednesday I was driving to help a friend out...she had a baby by c section and the baby was still in the NICU so I went to drive her to see the baby. On the way, I started to have obstruction type pain...the kind that comes in waves. Luckily it stopped by the time I got there, and I was able to spend the day with her, but it scared me tons. Wednesday night I woke up in the middle of the night and had tons of pain until I finally had a BM. Yesterday I was feeling fine, but today, I'm running to the bathroom a lot again. I'm due for a colonoscopy, so I'm trying to get that all figured out and not run to my GI and pay a $60 copay. So far it seems nothing needs urgent care, I'm just trying to eat carefully and deal with every day.
