Any Cimzia people self-inject?

I'm finally done with the nonsense and hassle of a home health nurse. The one I had for a year was great, but she can no longer do my shots. So, I've requested to switch to the pre-filled syringes. I inject myself daily with forteo (osteoporosis med, subcutaneous) and weekly with mtx. The needle on the mtx is 25G and Cimzia 24, so they're pretty close. I only worry about the viscosity of the Cimzia. There were many times my nurse's hand would quiver as she depressed the syringe. I'm not sure I can do that...

So, I'm wondering, of all the Cimzia users out there, how many give yourself the shot? And, is it hard? Or do the "good grips" handles make it easy to depress?

I give myself the shots too. I've done it 2x now and have not had trouble. Just have to give it slow because it's so thick, but it's not hard to depress the needle at all.

I've never really understood why some GIs have nurses come to administer these shots. They are designed for non-medical people to administer and very easy. IMO the Cimzia package is like "shots for dummies" LOL. It's designed for you to do at home alone. The Humira was not hard to understand but not as user friendly in the packaging.

Cimzia was easier than Humira for me - mostly because Humira hurt and Cimzia didn't. Cimzia is very thick so you have to use some force. No biggie, though.

 

The OXO needles are designed so RA patients can easily inject themselves. My shots are given by a fairly petite nurse (I'm in a study and they want me getting shots in the clinic) and she doesn't have any problem injecting the Cimzia, with standard needles. She does says it's thick though and it takes about 5-10 seconds.

I self-administered Cimzea for a few months. I found that holding the syringe like a dart and using my index finger to push the plunger worked well for me. Also, letting the syringe get to room temperature a half-hour before i took it made it not sting as much.
