loading doses of remicade?

I think its to get more medicine into your system initially so your body will begin the healing process. Then you get your regular dosages every 6 or 8 weeks to maintain. This is just a guess tho.

Double dose didn't work for me, had a flare up couple days after the infusion. Keep an eye on your flare ups if you keep having them after remicade it means that is not working.

I can't remember the exact stats for Remicade, but I seem to remember for Humira that they tested the drug at various doses and various dosing regimes, and simply found that the loading doses provided the best results for people with Crohn's.

The drug is given differently depending on the disease: each trial worked to find the dose and dosing regimen that would provide the best outcome for patients with each illness. I believe, too, that they also did trials to discover whether it was best to inject or infuse, or administer the drug by some other means.

If you ask your doctor or nurse there might be information on how Remicade (aka Infliximab) was developed and tested. You could also try Googling

and garner some information that way.
