So I just gave myself my once every 2 week shot and I noticed that it didn't sting nearly as much as usual....that's because a good large amount had somehow leaked out onto my skin! I don't know how this happened, the pens are pretty idiot proof. But how bad do you think it is to miss most of my dose this time? I have no idea how much I got and how much leaked out.

soooo do you think the needle bounced out? Sometimes happens leaving one to feel sheepish. Still daylight- would call your doc and discuss it with them. They might have an extra or can get you another dose somehow. Drug reps are amazing people. . . and know this isn't the first or the last to happen to newly dispensed medications. Sorry about
the double poke though, that sucks!

Well, when I was on it...and it was still quite new (I'm on Cimzia now)...I had this happen 2x...I called, cuz I think they had a bad batch...they had sent out more, from the same batch, and THESE also did it as well, I think I went through 3 or so pens...the different lot number, I had no issues...it was almost as if there was a defect in the spring that holds the plunger down...
So, it may not always be your fault...it could be just a bad lot...I know they try and make them "idiot proof", but sometimes, it happens...and if you call, and they say they've never heard this before, well, NOPE, I called at least 3X regarding this issue...I have it written down on my records somewhere (yeah I keep all that info, who and when I called, my memory can be so poor)...I have to do some digging, but I DO have it...

Just a guess, but maybe the needle was too short? I hear they are pretty good about
replacing the pens for free. Give them a call.

Thanks guys! I did call and they are sending me 2 more pens, one for this dose and one to keep as another "just in case" extra.

I had a pen misfire as once as I removed the cap! I was also sent a replacement by overnight delivery plus an extra pen - free of charge.

If it makes you feel better, once after having just started the injections I was so nervous I guess I wasn't paying attention and had the shot facing the wrong way. I ended up shooting it into my thumb until I noticed and screamed and dropped the pen. Cried at the time, but now my husband always tells me to double check before I do my injection. Makes for a good laugh now.

Fongers06- LOL! I can see how that can happen! I'm sure it was tramatic at the time but it makes for a funny story.
