Will Remicade help?

I was diagnosed with Crohns last July after having sever stomach pain, bloating, joint pain, bloody stools and more.  I was started on Pentaza and Prednisone.  I also take Folic Acid, Fish Oil and other supplements.  When I was on the steroids, I felt better that I have in 10yrs, but after getting off I have slipped back to the same old thing.  My flares aren't terrible, but I do suffer from frequent bloody stools and the thing the bothers me most of all, very severe and LOUD stomach noise.  Tomorrow I meet with my GI to discuss staying the course or moving to a biological med, like Remicade.  Has anyone had sucess with Remicade getting rid of the bloody stools and loud stomach noises?

Remicade put me into remission for 2 years - controlled the bleeding, stomach noises, pain, etc. It takes a while for it to kick in. I think it was my third loading dose when I noticed a difference. Good luck!

My Remicade was covered once I met deductible and out of pocket - just as my other doctor's appointments and treatments. Actually, I think it was covered a little better (it's been a while) since it is an in-office infusion treatment as opposed to Rx that you get at the pharmacy,

i'm on my third dose as well, it makes my flares not as bad and not as long lasting, but it is for me not a miracle drug for sure. I also have cd in my throat, that has helped a little, easier to swallow, also on my 2nd dose the next day my arms were itching and have been only at night. and where they hooked up IV the vein was really swollen for a couple of days, I have to see gi before my 3rd dose. a little concerned about veins and itching. I'm on remistart program, they pay your copay, so ea. injection costs $50. you have to get form from dr.
