Finally made it to the doctor's today! Though I got some bad news that I was expecting...he thinks the stricture I have is from scar tissue instead of inflammation since the course of Prednisone I just finished didn't really help with the pain/problems with appetite. He decided against trying biologics at this point because he doesn't think they'd be much help for me with the stricture. So we're looking at a scope sometime soon to see how bad the stricture is and probably surgery in the next year or two.
Yikes! He put me on Flagyl in hopes that it might help, but isn't too optimistic.
Guess my question is how long do people usually go before needing surgery from this point? Anyone have any relief from Flagyl or am I wasting my time?
I'm still doing pretty good with the SCD/low residue diet. Still working. Just have no appetite. Pain on sitting up in lower right quadrant and extreme fatigue. No blockages yet (knock on wood).
