slow movement food

NEW member daigonised  with crohns 2008 everything ok until recently i had to get new gi doc he took me off my some of my meds. namely presiodne, and buesonide both steroids. When i tapered down to 5mg predisone things went bad pain in my gut

and thoart . Doc now says after 2 years maybe not crohns disease?? Because Of the pain in middle of chest  so he ordered a new test were they watch some food pass down into stomach they said mine was  to slow took 1.5 hours just to get to stomach after a shot of r to make it move can crohns mess with movement of food make it slow to go though right know accoding to cscope and upper scope no ulcers at all but still fills like my food doesnt move and like spasms sometimes in thoart losing voice anybody have anything like this really confused??????

I know I've seen posts where someone had gastroparesis. I had tests for it because I was having a lot of nausea, but it came back normal. My GI said it's not a symptom of CD, but could be because of meds. You should try to eat smaller meals, and you can search threads/google about gastroparesis and maybe find more info to help you.

I agree with kaz...losing your voice could definitely be from reflux. I'd definitely ask your GI if you could try prilosec (or one of the other PPIs) and see if that helps.

Have you been on pred for 2 years?? If so, it's probably good that your dr wants you off it. If you don't have active disease, I would think you're safer without taking it....all the risks from pred are bad! What meds did he leave you on?

I was having slow motility for awhile. It turned out to be from lack of stomach acid. I now eat smaller meals, and take Betaine HCl when I have protein.
