Argggh...the waiting for results is awful!

Recent colonoscopy found stricture at terminal ileum (scope could not enter small intestine) so a small bowel series (barium/xrays) was ordered for last Friday. Radiologist showed me that stricture is 1/8" wide for approx. 4".

Now the waiting....no idea when the DI doc will receive and review the results, and determine course of treatment.  Office manager told me it could take up to a week.

Have you ever noticed that knowing the diagnosis, even if it is horrible, is better than not knowing what the hell is going on?

yes! i would rather know that not know.... I am all about being informed.... I hope you hear sooner rather than later! I hate waiting and I have been waiting now for two weeks to start the next phase of my treatment... I have one more hour to wait and then I start.... before you know it the time will be up and you will know the results.

I hate waiting...... I had to wait for my resection surgery for 2 months and the was much worse than the actual surgery for me.

At least the radiologist let you know what was going on so you're not completely in the dark. Though I do hate waiting to hear back from my GI after I know results but don't know what the "plan of attack" is.

I hope you hear soon!

GI doc has Rx'd Entocort for 2 months. Was going to put me on Pred until I protested - I developed psychosis last time on Pred and will only take it very short term, like a week or two.  

Fingers crossed, no surgery will be required!

Yes! I was just going to post something similar! I'm waiting on test results too and it feels like it's been forever! I just want to know what's next!

I'm curious too - since my GI doc said depending on test results I might need to do a short term dose of Entocort and I've never been on it. Have you had good luck on it before? Not too many bad side effects?

CDS1 - Thankls for the good thoughts. I've never taken Entocort before, but from what I've read, Entocort is different from other c.steriods as approx. 90% is absorbed in the small intestine, so side effects typically are milder than with others.

Good luck to you...hope you hear something soon and you don't need surgery!

My daughter did great, thanks to Entocort. At the highest dosage it caused a little constipation.
