I thought I was feeling almost totally better and so I ate salad today - now I am regretting it big time! Last week I had D so I took one dose of immodium (which I have never done) which led to constipation and having to take some stool softeners. Yesterday I had D 3 times. I woke up just now (3 hours after going to bed) feeling really nauseous and threw up. No other symptoms at the moment but the vomiting/ nausea. This used to happen to me years ago. I don't have any cramps or fever.
Does anyone else get vomiting as a symptom of crohns? If I do get vomiting why does it always seem to happen in the middle of the night?

Vomiting is one of my primary Crohn's symptoms, unfortunately. I don't know why it would only happen in the middle of the night for you though. It happens all the time for me. I usually just take a phenergan when it's all over (or am at least to a point when I know I can keep it down) and try to go back to sleep/get on with my day. If it becomes a persistent problem again, you should definitely tell your doctor about it because it can be a sign of Crohn's in your upper-GI tract. I have Crohn's in my stomach and all through my small intestine, so I think that's why I vomit so much.

I vomit almost every single morning before I eat breakfast! For some reason, I am super nauseas every morning! My dr. doesn't like to hear that I get sick at all though and I haven't thrown up in a while after switching to 6-mp. Talk with your dr. b/c nausea is awful!!!! AND vomiting is horrible on your teeth and can cause all sorts of issues.

I suffer now with chronic nausea and take Zofran and Phenergan daily. My nausea is caused from my resections I think. But normally when I have thrown up in the middle of the night, I ate something later than usual and it just doesn't sit right, and I will wake up and puke.

But....nausea and vomiting are signs of a stricture. I really think that if it isn't caused by meds, then you really should go in for some testing to rule out anything else. Hugs!

I've had bad nausea/vomiting the last several months. I take phenergan to help most of the time. I've thrown up almost every morning since August. My dr thinks it's an ulcer(s) in my upper GI. But I'm already taking medicine for it but guess it isn't working that great. I'll probably be getting another EGD next month as well as another Colonoscopy.

For me, nausea is pretty regular, not daily, though. I also take Phenergan (luckily it doesn't make me sleepy). I recently started Zofran because Phenergan wasn't touching the 6MP nausea.

Mostly when I throw up, it's morning and it's due to pain/spasms. But, when the nausea hits (usually an empty stomach) it hit. And, I have thrown up in the middle of the night a few times. It's been weird because when it happened I woke up not thinking anything besides "got to pee". then I get up and realize I have to rush to the bathroom because I am about to vomit! UGH!

It's horrible, so I hope you something to help you. I'd never tried Phenergan or Zofran, but since I have they've been amazing helps.

Also fyi Zofran has a sublingual that I love when I don't feel I can keep a pill down. It dissolves under your tongue and goes right into your system that way. Hugs!

Thanks for the tips - I am seeing my specialist tomorrow morning and I think he will be prescribing imuran (which I hope doesn't make the nausea / vomiting even worse) but it is good to know that I can get something for the side effects if I need to. I didn't eat a single vegi today and I feel much better :) (Well, lacking nutrients perhaps but my tummy is happy with me)!
